So what if Buddha and his clan of merry wise men were just a little bit passive aggressive? Hard liquor, fast women and quite probably a million psychological issues. What if they still had wisdom to offer, insights to share...things to say. But not quite. They were not quite wise. Perhaps "not quite sage."

And "Not quite sage" would describe the voice behind the website of the same name. Cartoon/Caricature. . Subject of illustration will be the (not so)Wise Man, but little bit 'broken.' Light hearted. Simple illustration of character only. Maybe stereotypically sitting on a mountain, long beard, etc etc. Maybe not. Black and white fine...maybe a splash of colour if it works.

I expect the design will either be, or will be inserted into, my site landing page, header, etc...whatever it's called. If we (meaning "you" and "me") connect on this project/initial design, it could form the basis of a greater working relationship as I will be looking for 'Sage' illustrations for my articles from time to time.

This should be a fun exercise. Sage is passive aggressive, damaged as hell, more than a little bit pissed off, every vice known to human kind... but has lots to offer....and deep inside does want share that knowledge. It may just not be 'candy coated.'

Design may or may not include the title "Not Quite Sage" ...will be interesting to see different interpretations on this. Sage should look somewhat "sage like" ... but not quite.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with...

So these are all great entries, and I see one or two I really like. If anyone else wants to get their entries in, I'll keep this open for another 24 hours and then make a decision. Everyone has submitted an interesting and very well done interpretation of "damaged Sage.' My ultimate decision will be based on which character I feel will best serve my need for my web project. Not necessarily, but that dude is me and I am the character (?) it's representing. Now that said, the whole ideas is that we have a not-so-wise, slightly 'damaged' "Sage" who perhaps others perceive as wise. So, really up to you...
