Contest Brief

Hi.

I saw this furniture set online. I want to use it as the basis for making my own furniture. I will need the design for a desk, a bookshelf, & a bed. I adore the swirly design & want to incorporate it into all pieces. I describe what I want below but if you have a better idea or are inspired in a different direction feel free to submit those ideas as well. I just want beautiful functional furniture at the end of the day.

Bed
I would like two designs inspired by the files I have uploaded. One will have the padded bed head (as in "cushioned bed head drawers.jpg") & the swirly design (as seen in "swirly bed head.jpg") at the foot of the bed. The other will have a simple bed foot (as in "swirly bed head.jpg") and the completed swirly design with glass backdrop (same photo). In this second design I do not want the four posts that support the canopy nor the canopy itself. The posts could be replaced by a design similar to what is done in "cushioned bed head drawers.jpg" or something else that you come up with. Both bed designs should have 6 drawers on the left side and another six on the right (two rows of three drawers each). The drawers can be similar to the drawers in the photo "cushioned bed head drawers.jpg". However, if you have a better design idea inspired by these photos , please feel free to draw that instead!

Bookshelf
This will be 6 feet by 3 feet. It should have two doors which will have glass in them. There should be a design over the glass similar to what is seen in (or inspired by) "desk.jpg".

Desk
This will be similar to "desk.jpg". There will be no mirror & the surface of the desk should be level (in the photo there is a dip in the middle). It will need a sheet of board at the front of it to promote the privacy of the person sitting behind the desk. This sheet will not need to touch the floor. Again I am open to whatever ideas you come up with but I really like the swirly design & would like the bed, desk, & bookshelf to match in terms of design elements.

Last week there were no submissions that I was bowled over by. This week I am struggling to pick a winner from among several top class entries. Well done!
