Contest Brief

Attached are images that represent Soka for me and a little of why I chose these images.

The name SoKa is a mixture of Soul food and passion and Korean heritage that makes me what I am today.

The first picture is of a cherry blossom tree. I like the delicate color and beauty of it, while also being supported by strong wood and roots. This represents the asian side of soka to me. I also like that it's not in full bloom. This represents me more as someone who doesn't always have it together, feels vulnerable sometimes, or just not full but still being supported by a strong foundation through friends and family. aka the roots.

The second is a bright jaguar. These dark overtones mixed with this bright vibrant intensity represent the soul of soka. I really like the coloring and feel of this picture. Through the darkness that covid has brought us, I want us to emerge a strong new powerful figure. something you've seen before but presented in a new way. We want to take that feeling and present it into our cooking and style/way we do things. I would even like more/different bright colors throughout the jaguar.

My girlfriend is the most important person to me and also represents what I'm doing this for. I cook and push myself to try and get people to feel the love and warmth that I feel with her. I want us to be this amazing technique-driven force represented through our cooking but presented to everyone. all races, sexualities, and people. I've worked my ass off for some great chefs in Michelin star restaurants, now it's time to present what I am and what I've learned to everyone who'd have my cooking. taking the same intensity I learned through these places but presenting them in a more relaxed environment that feels more like home and warmth.

Overall I am looking for a minimal, unique logo that would work well as a sticker, business card, and stamp.
