Contest Brief
A manufacturing company has an important product for vehicles that they developed and have produced for around 20 years. These 20 years of research, development and testing have gone into optimizing the product's performance, improving the product materials and general experience with its use. Competitors have recently started to copy and sell their own imitated version of the product. Testing shows that they do not have the same level of material quality and product performance, but sell cheaper. The original product is still better value, but only when you take the life and efficiency of the product and its affect on fuel use and so forth into account.
There is a campaign that is running to communicate that the original product works 20% more efficiently and lasts 20% longer. In addition to that, we are creating a short, 60-second video that needs to make a similar point.
We are looking for creative ideas to show the difference between the two products. Some subtle, gentle humor, or even quirky would be nice, though not essential. Using the relationships of other things to each other as a metaphor could work very well, and using an example of a similar comparison/contrast from the world of nature or animals or just about anything that the viewers might find interesting would be good. We may use video or animation to make our short video.
Some basic concepts to work from:
-One could say that the original product is way ahead of the imitation.
-Or we could say that it is much more mature.
-Or we could say that it is somehow more educated.
-Or we could say that it has more experience.
-Or we could say that the products may look similar, but are different under the surface.
Your idea submissions should be at least a written paragraph description. If possible, it would help to include a sketch or simple visual material illustrating your concept.
