Contest Brief

I am looking for a logo for my custom knife making business. I originally had a company name, Iron Creek Forge, but I want to keep it simple and go by my personal name since it is custom work only.

The name of the company now is Andrew K Smith Knives. I want the logo to say "Andrew K Smith Knives" and "Est. 2008 TX", which shows when and where the company started, Texas in 2008. I want the logo to have a sort of antique /vintage look. I am not into the modern tech looking designs.

Any other questions please let me know. I will try to provide feedback several times throughout the day on submissions.

    A few comments so far. 1: text only submissions will not be chosen, please have some spin or design to it. 2: Knives in the logo seem cliche, so I will likely not choose one of those. 3: You have freedom to do something creative with my initials. 4: Do not submit the same design multiple times.     Hi! So you want the initials of your name to be the logo, not really your name? Also, what colors do you like to see? Something "mono" or "colorful"?, and about the style, you like something that looks rude or friendly? Simplicity or complexity?

      Currently using an electric etching method. Once I award this contest, I will have a custom steel stamp made.

    Multiple logo designs proposals are welcome, but please do not propose the same design multiple times with different angles and /or colors. If I like your concept I will talk to you about other variations if I want it different. Multiple submissions of the same design will get removed.

      Please do not judge the logo on mock up presentations. Lot of pretentious designers here use that trick to make you believe that a low quality logo is a good one with the help of free mock ups.

      Ok, I get it now. From some of the submissions so far, I like the logos that are creative with my initials. I do not like the ones that use knives in the logo. It is too cliche. This logo will also be marked on everything I make, so it is important to have everything specified, "Andrew K Smith Knives, Est 2008 TX". Other variations with my initials, AKS knives for example, are fine too.

      Est. 2008 TX means established in 2008, Texas. its not tagline.

      I want it all on the same logo. This logo will also be etched onto my blades, so I want people to be able to know immediately who made it.
