Contest Brief

This is an Australian start-up software business that will eventually be trading globally.
Our product is a system that integrates with world best practice in Portfolio Management and while concepts are easily understood the product is highly technical from the perspective of the algorithms that drive the outputs. It is not necessary for a product consumer to understand the technical nature of the product because of the “Black box” approach used in the software design.
The product will be offered as “Software as a Service” (SaaS) and predominantly sold via the web site. We will also offer consulting and training services to assist the company or government to optimise their implementation and therefore the value they get from the product.
The company that will own the product is Kepa Software. Pty Ltd. and we own the kepasoftware.com and kepasoftware.com.au domains.
The types of organisations that will consume our product will initially be large corporates and governments but expansionary markets will include business consultants, investment advisers and eventually the “Mom and Dad” investor.
We need a logo to provide visual identity but since a logo could be considered only a small portion of visual identity, we want to include a requirement for designs of colour palette and how the logo could be applied in the context of business cards, web site design, sales and marketing materials, reports and any other physical and electronic messaging contexts.
Three words that might describe the nature and tone of the project are “Corporate”, “Technical” and “Innovation”.
Designs that are being used by other companies in the industry include (Not necessarily aligned in market, size, business model or approach to the market):
• Atlassian - https://www.atlassian.com
• SAP - https://www.sap.com/
• Salesforce - https://www.salesforce.com/
Ten personnel are involved and have an average of 35 years’ experience in their chosen fields so an initial “grey hair” culture is expected but we are actively seeking to leverage the years of experience until a larger team and fresh image may be required.

“Misunderstandings due to language were minor, otherwise Khalid provided great service, ALWAYS acceding to requests and delivering what we asked for. I would hire Khalid again. ”

I offered the names of three software companies that would have similar requirements for a logo. I did not ask for a regurgitated logo from one of these three companies.

If the company name is part of the Logo design then the "Pty Ltd" should not appear, it is just for clarification of the type of company in Australia and is meaningless in the context of global
