The addition of color in my design makes it a bit more playful than the other, the colors I picked complement each other quite well (orange and blue) but you can choose any colors you like.

I agree with you that the colors do make it look more playful but I would prefer to see an original design as this is just a modification of another person's design

This was my own design, I take care as to not look at the other entries to avoid copying. But I'll have another go at making a logo once I'm home from college.

If you mean it's a modification of the grayscale one, that one was also my own. I uploaded two designs.
