Contest Brief

We are looking for a logo that really represents the fusion of a very Technical / Scientific individual whom also loves Cooking / Culinary Arts. The idea is to be a little more playful with this logo, as opposed to boring, corporate and drab. Icons involving a character that is brainy and a chef/cook are pretty much the obvious, but you should explore how far you can go.

The official name is: NerdCooked and the domain will be located at www.nerdcooked.com -- Please note, any holding page you may see is only temporary, and does not reflect the needs in this brief. We are designing the rest of the website currently, but the brand is essential.

Color choice should be kept at a minimum of one accent color... We are leaning to the greens (brighter not the earthy hues). As such, you should stay away from Olive, Avocado, and any muted tones of green. Likewise, a dayglo, super bright green is completely out of the question. You can lean to the bright side of the spectrum without going over the top...!

Fonts should NOT be Script, 20's typefaces, or anything other than Techy/Modern/Contemporary. If you find yourself using something that is cursive or feminine, then you are going down the wrong path right from the start. Instead, it should be clean, bold and hold the same weight in size as the actual logo bug.

All work MUST be vectors and very original in nature. If you end up taking inspiration from Shutterstock or one of the major outlets of vector art, it's likely that your logo work won't be approved or highly rated. We are in need of a very original logo for the purposes of branding and cannot be in contention with anything pre-existing.

Deliverables will be .AI files, and the FONTS CANNOT BE CONVERTED TO CURVES. It's ok if you just specify the font used at the point of award and delivery and if it is freely available, all the better. If you use a purchased typeface, please indicate with your submission. However, the final deliverable must allow for complete editing, inclusive of leaving the font as text.
