Contest Brief

Hello designers! We need a patch designed for the back of our martial arts uniforms. Overall design dimensions will be 9"-11". Our academy logo will be the focal point but we need a designer's eye to put it into a patch. I am attaching our logo as well as 2 examples of back patches. The color schemes on the examples are a good option, another option may be red, white, blue, with some black incorporated (maybe as background.) I am also attaching our current front patch for our uniforms. Matching this patch isn't necessary, but cohesive colors is ideal. We use solid white and solid black uniforms, so please keep that in mind so the colors will compliment both uniforms. Please no martial arts clip art or martial arts related words added. Thanks and we look forward to working with you!

Employer Feedback

“This was our second time to hire this designer. Alfian was fantastic to work with - communication is excellent, edits are fast, designer goes above and beyond with each design to ensure we get exactly what we want. ”

Thanks for the submissions over the weekend. We are back open today and ready to get back to feedback for the designs. Again, we ask that there is no clip art or kicking pictures on the patch. I appreciate that a few of the designs have the kick from our front patch-however, we still use that patch on the front and don't want to back patch to be so similar, just cohesive. We like 16 and 17 if we were redesigning the front patch we currently have-may list that as a separate contest soon. We like 12, but we need the outside of the design to have less points for sewing. Most of the designs we like have more of a shape (circle, shield, etc.) Our front runner so far is #21 with a few edits that I will communicate with the designer. Thanks and I look forward to seeing more designs!

Just a question. You have the triangular image labelled as "Logo" and then there's the currently in use "Front Patch" so, which is the actual name of the martial arts studio and which of these images should be represented in this design? Thank you.

Sorry Jeremy, I responded to you as a regular comment on the thread rather than a reply to you. Thanks for the question.

Like the shield shape in #3 , but not the clip art or the champion. The shield was what we originally discussed but didn't know how to fill up the space above/below without clip art. Also like the shape of #1, but could you switch the logo to the updated logo I uploaded called, "our current logo." We decided to go with a simpler version of it. Also, since this is a patch and will have to be sewn on, we want to minimize the angles/cuts around the edges of the design, so we will need to have a background put behind the design to encompass it. Generally, patches will be a solid, smooth shape rather than all the edges. We are ok with the examples we provided since the overhang of the design on the background in clear and could be easily sewn. Points and tight spaces or turns aren't good around the edges of patches. Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know that, I will clarify it in the description. The name is Jeramy Black's TaeKwonDo Academy.
