E@SY - Design a Few Web Pages for Website Mockup for Job Board & FORGET Monster.com

  • Status: Closed
  • Prize: $200

  • Winner: sanaqila

Contest Brief

Design a mockup site with just 5 simple pages (home, search results, job profile, employee and employer profile). Design can be whatever you prefer, HTML/CSS, Photoshop, etc.) for a new job board I am looking to create. Winner will most likely be the person who will help with building the actual site; unless winner chooses not to =(. The idea here is to NOT be the same as the other job boards Monster.com, Indeed.com, Careerbuilder.com, Dice.com, which are dated. Looking for innovative simple features and nice designs that are easy to use and not complicated (i.e. site would render easily on mobile devices, slight transparency images, possibly fixed header bars - these are not what I'm asking for but just some examples of things that may liven up a website and make people want to come to the site and appreciate the design). Think Pinterest, AirBnB, . Pages include:

1) Home Page / landing page - should only have a few fields and links and very appealing - different from monster.com, careerbuilder.com, indeed.com, etc. Search fields include "Keywords" and "Location". Links on the landing page should be "Sign in or Join", "Employers Post Jobs"

2) Job Search Results Page -Filter options should be:
a) Salary Range 30k+, 50k+, 80k+ 100k+
b) Distance: Exact Location, within 5, 10, 25, 50 miles
c) Company (i.e. all jobs for Google)
d) Job Type (Part Time, Full Time, Internship, Contract / Temporary)

3) Candidate Profile Page (photo or avatar of Male or Female if no photo is provided)
a) Name
b) Location
c) Title
d) Education / School
e) Experience
f) LinkedIn Profile link (if you want to have items a-e listed in the profile by pulling in from public LinkedIn profile, that works too)

4) Job Profile Page
a) If Employer is logged in and looking at their own job page, they should be able to open / see a list of all candidates applying for this job with status options that employer can choose from (reject, consider, accept)
b) If job candidate is logged in and looking at the job page, they should be able to save the job, refer to a friend or apply

5) Employer Profile Page
a) Can post new jobs easily from here once they're logged in
b) list of # of jobs currently posted for this company with date posted and status (open, closed) and ability to click on any of the jobs to open up the job profile page

Sorry everyone, freelancer is having a problem with this contest and this should NOT be closed because there is still 2 weeks left for this contest. I have submitted this issue to freelancer.com and will check in with them daily until this issue is resolved. I will also request that they extend this out another week due to people being unable to submit an entry here. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Kanwarwebdev, don't worry about creating a logo, you can just use a placeholder for now. the main focus of this contest is a beautiful landing page for a new online job search portal. thank you =)

here's an idea, how about something like airbnb, pinterest, bing where they have a nice image in the background that takes up the entire page and then a message or slogan such as "how's this for your next office space?"

Hi agilebilla, feel free to send a landing page. I have so many submissions where people are using templates..looking for original ideas where it would be pleasing or fun for someone to come on to the site. like when I go to airbnb.com, it is a nice experience.

Please be nice =( I don't want to reject entries but so far I have only gotten 1 real entry! I got 15 blank entries already and several website templates that either have nothing to do with a job board that I am looking to create or I am getting screen shots of website templates that I can easily find myself searching on Google.

Not interested in site templates such as http://themeforest.net/item/careers-job-portal-candidate-database-html/6184051 or http://www.templatemonster.com/category/job-portal-website-templates/ or http://www.phpjabbers.com/free-job-website-templates.php

I have seen many job portal site templates which I am staying away from which is my goal for this contest; to find original design content and not templates such as:

Can I submit one page design for now initially ? If you like, then we can proceed on further pages ?
Also the budget is low because I will provide you directly html css.

Sounds good, looking forward to seeing the designs! Maybe something to think about..if you are using a job search site and looking for a job, what kind of site would impress you? I hear all the time people don't like Monster.com not just because the listings are old but the website feels old.
