Illustrate a Book Cover with original art (man, a prophet, walking on beach with angel)

Contest Brief

I'm looking for a portrait artist who can work from photographs and an illustration to create an original artwork for use on the cover of a forthcoming spiritual book.

The title of the book is "The Worldview Artist" The subtitle is "A Man's Life As Told (In Part) By Angels". The author is "Joe Perez". All this information must fit on the front book cover.

The size of the book is 6 x 9. The spine width is 440 pages (0.99 inches). Your work can focus on the front cover. For the back cover, you can use dummy boilerplate text as provided in the attached Word document.

This is my concept for the FRONT BOOK COVER. Be careful if you choose to deviate from this concept. I may love it, but I may not, and I have put much thought into it.

(1) Use the reference image of the man walking on the beach, dressed in white robes, but with these differences: get much closer up so you can see the man's face. The man's body, beneath the robes, should be average height (about 5'10") with a muscular build. The white hood should not cover his face, but be drawn down over his neck so his face can be seen.

(2) Use one or more of the pictures of Joe Perez to illustrate the face of the man walking on the beach with dramatic lightly to accentuate his approach. The man is bald, smooth shaven head.

(3) Use the angel concept art to illustrate the angel nearby, probably hovering in the air behind him, or whispering in his ear. The angel's build and height is comparable to the man's, but a bit taller and more muscular. The angel can be as distinct as the man or translucent. The angel does not need to be carrying a sword.

I will give feedback throughout the contest, and I will not close it early, even if an awesome design or two comes in. Nor will I extend it, unless there really are no viable artworks.

    1-I can use reference images similar to those attached to make the composition
    2-The main background is the man with the headless tunic is with Mr. Joe's face on the beach? can I make the background with the same dark tones of the clouds?
    3- If necessary I can request another photo of Mr. Joe more defined and clear.

      (1) and (2) do as you like, and (3) I'd rather Joe's face be artistically rendered rather than an actual photography cut and paste, so no further reference drawings will be posted.

    What kind of style would you like for this cover? I personally think semi-realistic style would perfectly suit this illustration but I want your opinion before I start to draw it. I can do pretty much any kind of style ^^
