Contest Brief

We are a California insurance agency. We need a daily sales report using Access so the report can be used amongst 10-14 people to enter their sales activities. We sell various types of insurance such as Auto, Home, Business, Life, Etc... Insurance Products come from various insurance companies (Travelers, Safeco, The Hartford...) There are various level of commissions percentage for each products. In brief each salesperson must be able to open his/her own Access sign on to access his/her report to report: purchaser info, type of insurance product (dropdowns), total premium must give 12 months total (from possible 6 months, 3 months long policies). Must have Total of the # of sold polices, premium by products, total premium month to date and YTD. We require 12 separate monthly reports with YTD result.
Each salesperson will have separate report form and all the reportsfrom all salespeople must be tallied up into admin form. Access form must accessible by individual users at anytime from our server
Our need for this Access report is immediate. We attached what we envision for your review,

Few questions further. 1. How do you derive commission from premium amount? 2. 'Client 1st & Last' - I guess you want a complete list of all the purchasers and not only the 1st and last purchaser of the month.

I have 4 questions for clarification purposes:

1. Can salespersons see everyone else's sales reports, or just their own?

2.: Should "premium by products" and "total premium MTD/YTD" be calculated across all purchasers, or per purchaser?

3. Are the monthly reports simply aggregated versions of the daily reports?

4. Just confirming: salespersons should be able to save details about newly sold insurance packages, correct?

  2. Annual Premium by products should be calculated or tally per client/customer/transaction.
  • Example 1 - Product Sold: Auto policy
  a. Term: 12-Month Policy
  b. Premium: $1200.00
  c. Annual Premium: = b * 1 => $1,200.00
  • Example 2 - Product Sold: Auto policy
  a. Term: 6-Month Policy
  b. Premium: $500.00
  c. Annual Premium: = b * 2 => $1,000.00
  3. Monthly reports are aggregated of each time the person reports, whether it’s daily or every other day or weekly. The report should always aggregate the total from Day one of the month to date, whether the salesperson has updated his/her sales activities. The management report should be a total / aggregate of everybody monthly / ytd reports
