Contest Brief

Hi, I am after a unique tattoo design that is to be inked from the wrist to the shoulder and possibly more if required over the shoulder to the chest.

The tattoo is to be in dark tones and shading no colour required except for the use of the natural skin tone beneath, I will try paint the picture in words for it to come to life flowed from pen to paper. If some colour is required then we can work from there if you as an artist think it may be required to help create this type of tattoo.

In my mind I picture a mud crab at the bottom of a rough sea have freed itself from a drift crab pot that has snagged onto a lost sea anchor on rocks/reef with its claws facing upwards with a small school of fish in the midst. Sailing on the ocean above a pirate ship with full sails drawing the strong winds while rising up over the waves. In the ocean close to the bow of the boat a bottle of corked Irish Jameson Whiskey floating upright half full in the waves where the ship is rising up over them.

On the bow of the ship where names usually are printed there's a four leaf clover and above facing the sea is the ships figure head sculpture of a beautiful woman facing the sea holding a lantern, I would like to add in the creativity feeling of a bearded sailor with the style of the tattoo having an Irish/northern seaman style. Possibly the Greek god Poseidon's face could be entwined to be part of the waves, at the wheel of the ship or at the bow deck a visual of a traditional Buff Popeye the sailor man who is the captain of the vessel with his pipe in his mouth (can attach photos from google images but not to copy just for similarity I want all to be original to itself). The sky above the ship can be an evening tone with a visual southern cross in the sky to signify she's sailing Australian waters.

On the inside of the bicep surrounded by a few four leaf clovers tied together by a ships rope I envision a Day Of The Dead couple bowed together foreheads touching in there wedding apparel both wearing boots for shoes to signify love is eternal with room underneath for a name/writing and inside the rope the background of the couple is the same ocean/waves of the whole tattoo with two seagull styled birds holding the ropes together at the bottom of the couple facing outwards so the ropes are secured though the birds face outwards to signify there free (I would love for this tattoo to somehow tie in with the tattoo sleeve though this piece be completely on the inside of the bicep)

I endeavour to find an artist that can help me start this tattoo off and work with me further to help perfect it to help make it come to life and be inked! If you get on my level with this idea please add and change whatever you think may work for it may be better to what I have in mind.

I have also attached tattoo images from google to help with styling my desire as well. These images are for brainstorming and to help visualise what I'm trying to help create from words I do not wish to copy, I want this piece to be totally unique and original to itself.

No need to have anything in the claws, just open and facing up. What you have done is nice.

Tell me, which hand will it be, left or right? This is necessary in order to set the direction of the dynamics of the composition.

hello, I have a question, don't you think the characters on the ship will look too small considering the arm size that will limit opening the scene top scale up the ship to see the front with the woman sculpture and the sailors on board ?

Yes your probably correct, maybe that part of the scene should be added and illustrated somewhere else though corperated within the same tattoo, would that work?
