My client's website ([login to view URL]) is hosted on DO, but Is down. I sent a ticket to DO and ot this response:
------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for reaching out to us.
On checking, I can see your website [login to view URL] is throwing "Error code 521".
The 521 error will occur when a web server is not able to process the request initiated by cloudflare proxy. Which could be an issue that occurs within the Droplet. However, as an infrastructure service provider, we do not have access to your Droplet and will not be able to troubleshoot the reason for this issue.
Further checking I can see the website is loading fine with "HTTP" and the error is thrown up only when it is loading with "https". I have attached a snapshot of your website loading fine with 'http'.
That means the HTTPS port 443 is showing as closed on your droplet "[login to view URL]", which would indicate that no service is running on this port. With that, it is expected for the website to report error 521.
Please refer to the nmap port scan results:
Nmap scan report for [login to view URL] ([login to view URL])
Host is up (0.35s latency).
PORT STATE SERVICE
80/tcp open http
443/tcp closed https
I have verified that a valid SSL certificate exists for the domain, however, it could be that the origin web service is not configured to listen on port 443. I would recommend logging into your Droplet, and making sure that the web service (nginx) is configured to listen on 443 as well:
