vABSTRACT
The field of science has developed a lot giving rise to many new subjects of study like information systems and telecommunications. During the earlier time period of telecommunications, it was difficult to merge data networks with voice networks. But, in the contemporary era, it has become possible to combine audio, video and data services on one network. It is called a multimedia network. The Internet has also modernized with time. Thus, now it is possible to transfer audio and video files via the internet in addition to other data.
One such multimedia technology is Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). It makes it possible to transfer audio, data and video packets. Resultantly, it is being used by many people around the world for communication. Ultimately, Voice over Internet Protocol might substitute the usage of conventional communication mediums that is Public Switched Telephone Networks (PSTN). However, the replacement will not be that easier to achieve. One of the main critiques is that VoIP transfers audio packets via open network i.e. Internet which is in contrast to PSTN where audio packets are transferred through a closed network. In PSTN, the direct access of listeners to Physical object is necessary to acquire information from communication networks. On the other hand, in VoIP, the listeners can connect to any data from a remote location via the internet. Thus, VoIP systems cannot ensure the security and privacy of an individual. In order to overcome th
