He was sick and tucked in bed underneath a cozy blanket in the color of blue; matching the blue walls and furniture. He still would have been sleeping had his parents been less noisy. But they were in fact very loud when they packed and they always procrastinated until the final moment. So naturally, Jack’s mom was panicking as usual. They were flying across the country over to the east coast. An old college friend of his father was getting married in New York and for the third time. Although only twelve, Jack had this feeling that it was not going to be the last one. He thought it was only a matter of time when his parents would have to fly to New York once again for his fourth. He liked the idea of his parents being on the other side of the country, it felt freeing. But he wasn’t truly free. Julia was to come and watch him for the course of the night. Jack loved Julia. She was fun and never told on him. They always had fun whenever she’d come. But Jack was to be thirteen soon; a teenager. And according to Jack, teenagers didn’t need a babysitter.
