Very interesting genre, one that I am no stranger to, I have practical paranormal experience. For starters, I live in a town that I fondly refer to as an open-air asylum. I have an Imaginary friend, but that is not uncommon, most people have Jesus, I have Jim Morrison, who in turn has his own imaginary friend, a weird naked Native American, who by the way does not come with English subtitles. This can be misleading first thing in the morning when you open your eyes and there is a weird naked Indian singing to you from the bedroom doorway. Of course, this made more sense eight months later when my husband ended up dead in the bathtub.
And now we have gone full circle on the asylum, however, that does not explain the "Twilight zone" effect we get here. My hypothesis is that the earth's ley lines cross here, I swear if we had druids in this county there would be a huge stone circle right on the main beach " Stoned Hinge." The basis for my hypothesis is the "Weird Wedding" weekend I spent in Montaque situated in the Cape province. I was informed later that the ley lines do in fact cross here, the experience was profound and one that cannot be dismissed as shared hallucinations, I still have the photos, should it interest you and would be more than happy to forward them to you. The events of that weekend measured a 9 on my weird-shit-o'meter the paranormal equivalent of the righters scale.
I hope that my interest and personal experience will help sway the scale in my favor,
