Hi, I believe you will need to include a lot of assembly code inside the Turbo Pascal/C code. I had learnt Pascal as my first language, and graduated to C thereafter. It was many yeas ago I used Turbo C and Borland Pascal programming language in MS-DOS. But I think I still have the ability to do things in same way. We can talk about required time for finishing project later after I see your project code and documentation.

Hi, this is Pavel here. 20+ years of experience (yes, old enough to have practical experience with Turbo products). A couple of questions: - on what OS/HW are you going to run this software? Are you sure that there will be no troubles with access to registers etc. from usermode application? - which version of TurboPascal was used to develop the app in question? - You also mentioned TurboC, but I didn't quite catch how is it involved into this project. I am interested in the project. I have a few questions and comments. What was the legacy OS and Whats current OS? Why do you need DAQ ? Which companies IO card are you using ? NI ? What is the type of toggling the parallel port doing... They had a few bits you could read also Would you consider doing it on an Arduino and or raspberry pi or ESP8266 based solutions? So this way its moved from a PC to a USB/network or wifi connected appliance and you open your self to a variety of front ends be it PC or smartphone or tablet.

As a software engineer I've been working in Hardware/Software Codesign for several years. Turbo Pascal was my first programming language IDE and currently I often use Delphi for prototyping. As a teacher, in the past I've provided my students with knowledge on how to control devices through the paralell port with Pascal programming. The work could be started as soon as I receive the source file/s and, if the required information is complete and clear, I could finish it in one week. Even though I'm just a beginner in the freelance world I'm a very experienced programmer willing to help you.
