I recently graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science with a major specialization in psychology from the #1 university in Canada (the University of Toronto). I also have a minor in a program unique to my school called "Buddhism, Psychology, and Mental Health". I have had tremendous experience working in a variety of different psychology labs, and have completed courses on specifically interpersonal relationships and emotion. I plan on pursuing graduate studies in clinical psychology, as I hope to become a therapist myself one day.
Some research projects I have been involved with include coding narratives of people's lives for meaningfulness (i.e., do the turning points in people's lives involve insight and meaning?), wisdom (i.e., how is wisdom understood by people of different faiths?), and program evaluation for a mindfulness-based stress reduction program. I both designed and run experiments, and have written many high-quality academic papers (I can email you samples if you'd like). I am currently in the process of/working on developing a theory of the cognitive mechanisms underlying self-deception and foolishness.
Psychology is not merely something that I studied for a degree, it's my entire life. I am very dedicated to making a difference in the future by being able to help people and guide them in their journey of self-growth and transformation. I love psychology because I love people.
I would be so grateful for this opportunity!
