MODBUS RTU unit to be built with analog inputs, digital inputs, digital outputs, GPS and GSM module connection. SInce multiple MODBUS RTU devices are to be accessed, obvious choice is to go for RS485 interface. I have built a large number of MODBUS RTU and MODBUS TCP devices and can definitely do this solution. I have built boards around ARM and PIC micros, implementing various solutions. Looks like NXP1768 32 bit ARM is a good candidate for this application. You have also mentioned Ethernet as one of the requirements. Please check if WiFi connection could suffice. This requirements means that both MODBUS RTU and MODBUS TCP are to be implemented. This makes the device more complex and increases the resource requirement Also, what is the data output on GSM module and if teher is a comunication requirement with server and if so what is the protocol? We need lot more application logic details and a software requirement specifications document to proceed. Can we discuss more on this? Thanks

Dear Sir, I would suggest using off-the-shelf components that already has all these features (Modbus link, Ethernet link, analog input signals, digital input/outputs) than developing the whole thing from scratch. Will save you a huge time in developing and perfecting the new hardware. For which application do you want this developed?
