Hi, without knowing all of the details about the network and network connections I do believe that the sharepoint option will be the easier route to follow. You can do some upscaling of databases to MS Sharepoint and link the frontend directly to the data on sharepoint. The advantage of this is that the database will still function even without an internet connection. As soon as a connection becomes available, the data automatically syncs up again cutting out the whole process of sharing files via dropbox or any other sharing service. As mentioned, I don't know all of the details, but would really be interested in working this project with you. I have done similar jobs with access and sharepoint before, so I know they are doable and reliable. The database will be 'split' into a frontend and a backend. Basically taking the user interface and separating it from the data, ms access can actually do this by itself. Once the data has been split, the backend data gets loaded onto sharepoint, and linked back to the frontend. If the process is done correctly, then no other changes to structures etc would be required. (Highly dependant on the complexity of the database though) I have worked on marketing databases like this before. If you want to 'merge' the data again at a later stage, or migrate it to an even bigger platform like MySQL or SQL then the data is downloaded from the sharepoint site, merged or migrated to the new system and relinked.
