Proof read a 46000 word report for a non-profit organization. Special attention should be given to the following:
1) Do not de-italicize anything which could possibly be a foreign word unless it is a proper name, place or adjective derived from them e.g. Dhamaraja Ratha (a building in Mamallamapuram) kanika ratha (the corner angle of a building.) Usually proper names are capitalized. Angkor = a city, Angkorian = an adjective derived from the name of a city.
2) Do not italicize or correct spelling of English words which spellcheck does not recognize; mark them.
3. In "numbered list" or series any number followed by a parenthesis (and the closed parenthesis) should be bold.. Any single letter followed by a parenthesis should be placed within an open and closed parenthesis sign and the signs and letter should be bolded.
4. Most of the errors will be residual artifacts of previous editing, such as double periods and commas, repetition of words and phrases, run-on words, extra spaces. (One space only between words and after periods.
5. A string of numbers should have a space between the numbers eg. 1, 2, 3, 4,....For dates use space-hypne-space e.g. (889 - 915) Some dates will be in parenthesis others not. Don't change.
6) If you notice an inconsistency in a word which is foreign and not obviously mispelled place an ampersand & and I will search for all of them and regularize them.
7) If you have a question about anything also place an ampersand before it and write the question in a colored type.
