I have designed a musical instrument which needs to be kept to an internal temperature of about 36 degrees celsius, over a period of a few hours. It may be possible to connect it to the mains at various points throughout this time as well.

Industrial processes which I have designed need temperature control within 1o C which is easy to achieve. Sometimes you use heat available, for example in a factory the ambient temperature tends to be 22 degrees. So if you know the environment temperature and that is likely to be constant you can use that heat as a start. An example would be arriving with equipment that is at 15 o C and knowing in that environment you will quickly reach the ambient temperature without needing to heat it. So you need a further 10 degrees. People in a room will create additional heat. Then you have to consider the size of the equipment you need to heat and can there be some kind of insulation for example a drinking flask holds the temperature of a hot drink. So you would need to provide me with more information. Mains power would be ok if it was something static and fixed such as an organ but a hand held intsrument would ideally want to be battery powered. If it is mains power USA voltage of 110 volt will not harm a person but UK voltage of 240 volt can kill so staying at the lower voltage is important. That then gives information to make a start. Can a battery heat it and last long enough and what would the heater be. So if you provide more information I can take a provisional look at it and get back to you with a better idea of how it can be achieved. kevin
