We are working with a customer that has over 20 AGVs which we need to retrofit while the system is running. They use a VSU (Vehicle Sensing Unit) TX and RX at each end of the AGV. These units are potted and we cannot see the design and have limited no info, but we do have some working units which you can use for testing. If you can un-pot them is would be great as the design is not so intricate I believe. The new units will be discarded later when over half the vehicles are retrofitted and we control the traffic via WiFi. 1 – set to test. - Need for testing in Jan/Feb 2018. 3 – first build. – End of Feb. 2018, after successful testing. Total 15 units. – Later down the road. We have good documentation, see the brief description for now, we will send you more if you feel you are capable. The VSU (Vehicle Sensing Unit) is an independent, self-contained AGV traffic control system that does not require a AGVSM (host control computer system). The system consist of two components all in one L x W x H package, with a socket or pigtail, 6" x 1.25" x 2", dimensions can vary some. The 2 units are currently in the same package and wired as needed for the function, but can be in separate packages. You can make the boards, we can packkage it. 1. VSU-Rx – A frequency receiver/antenna mounted on front of the vehicle. 2. VSU-Tx - A frequency transmitter mounted toward the back of the AGV. Alredy installed in the floor are VSU Loops – A passive, embedded wire closed-loop which is installed in the same floor cut as the guide path navigation wire with several additional cuts to form a closed loop. This loop is very carefully designed to provide the traffic management functionality required. The VSU provides two methods of traffic control: 1. Vehicle Blocking – this control AGV movement in intersections and where guide paths either merge or cross. The VSU will transmitt a Stop frequency. 2. Vehicle Buffer – Controls AGVs on a single section of guide path as they arrive at loading and unloading stations. Let me know if you are interested in this or if you know someone to recommend, preferably in California as the end user is there, or in Florida where we can test it as well, but location is not so important. Best regards, Roland
