I develop business logic in Excel and need a formula to scan several hundred transactions to find circular payments. In the example, A pays B, B pays C, C pays D, D pays E, E pays F, F pays A the elimination formula needs to remove from each payment the smallest circular amount. (A pays 180 to B; B pays 30 to C; C pays 50 to D; D pays 10 to A: 10 is the smallest circular amount, so the formula reduces A, B, C, D payments by 10). The new formula will go in Column G of the attached spreadsheet. Have a look at the formula in Column E -- this gives an idea of what is needed; it is a simple formula to eliminate a direct circular payment: A pays B and B pays A). The new formula will handle the advanced cases: A pays B, B pays C, C pays D, D pays A, etc. There are 3 Test Cases -- the new formula will be able to pass each of these test cases, eliminating the circular amounts in each test. PLEASE NOTE -- THIS IS NOT an EXCEL VBA MACRO PROJECT BUT AN EXCEL FORMULA PROJECT. While it's possible to write a VBA MACRO to accomplish this task, an Excel Formula is needed. PLEASE respond ONLY if you can WRITE AN EXCEL FORMULA to handle this task.

HI, seems to me that in test 1 A paid to B 130 and S 50. Is it a rule that the last paying pay the minimum to the first paying?
