Decentralised technological innovation - an emerging trend disrupting old paradigms, creating a new economic cycle. Word count: 20.000 The economy moves in cycles (called Kondratieff waves/ cycles, also referred to as K-waves or long waves) fueled by technological innovation. We are proposing that we are moving towards the beginning of a new cycle/ wave of this sort which will be recognized by a paradigm shift towards a decentralized economy, fueled by innovation in decentralized technology. But most importantly a shift in the global monetary system, fueled by innovation in digital currencies (specifically bitcoin and blockchain), which is of a decentralized nature. With the theory of creative destruction we want to promote the idea behind Bitcoin while also dissecting and undermining the scepticism towards Bitcoin and the controversy surrounding it by attributing it to gatekeepers of an old paradigm. We are proposing that we are in the early adopter phase in in the adoption cycle of this technology. Centralization in the economy is the result of a need for trusted governing authorities who organize different aspects of society and business. Advances in digital technology opens up for direct interaction, cutting out middlemen and totalitarian governing systems. Blockchain technology in particular opens up for a trustless decentralised monetary system. This trend is impossible to stop, it may only be slowed down by gate keepers of old paradigms. Technological innovation is the driving force in the economic cycles. This book should not go into technical detalis about Bitcoin in particular, but focus on disruptive technological trends in relation to innovation theory and history. You, the ghostwriter, will be provided an extensive list of links to sources of information. These links will include quite specific information and creates a good foundation to build the whole argumentation in the ebook. There will also be need for you to do your own research for additional arguments/ information if deemed necessary to make a compelling case.
