Cartoonists: Need mascot character redraw and update

Character needs to be re-drawn. Artists should have experience working with Illustrator and good knowledge or preparing work for press. Artist should have good knowledge of gradient meshes, which will be required for this project in order to create a believable character which is actually a water dropplet.
Please submit portfolio work showing characters you've drawn for comics, fun, hobby, etc.
Current character is aweful, having been drawn in the 1950's. Expression is really goofy. Need him to be happy and excited like a puppy dog, but yet still a water drop. Water should look like a real drop (but blueish), with proper shadows and highlights. This project is new artwork based on THEME ALONE.
Character will be leaning against the word "Barlow", with his arm around the "B". If we like your artwork, we may ask for other poses as time goes on and certainly other characters as we are a full service advertising agency without an in house cartoonist.

## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
Adobe Illustrator. If you are drawing a sketch first, use streamline to convert to vectors. This project must be all vectors, must be able to be used on a variety of different colored pieces - so certain proprietary Illustrator effects may cause the "white box" effect if this isn't done properly.
