The first and possibly most important step in getting external links is creating content that inspires others to link to it. In this assignment, you will be getting hands-on experience in creating link-worthy content. You will be creating either (a) an infographic, (b) a storyboard for a video, OR (c) a blog post for the site’s blog (even if the site currently does not have a blog).

For students who choose to create an infographic: Here are a list of infographic examples on Canva.com. You will create your own infographic either by creating it on [login to view URL] and then downloading it, or you can use Word, Excel, Powerpoint or another program to create it yourself. It is important that your infographic be both graphically appealing and informative. You are allowed to take images from the internet and use them for your infographic. Note: In the real world, you would need to get permission to use other people's images but I'm making an exception for this class.) You will need to cite any outside sources of information you use in your infographic - this is explained below.

For students who choose to do a video storyboard: Use this storyboard template format which shows columns for Video, Diagram and Audio. You will create your own storyboard either by drawing it all by hand and then scanning it, or you can use Word, Excel, Powerpoint or another program to create it electronically. You are allowed to take images from the internet and use them for your storyboard. Note: In the real world, you would need to get permission to use other people's images but I'm making an exception for this class.) You will need to cite any outside sources of information you use in your storyboard - this is explained below.

For students who choose to write a blog post: Read this infographic of the Anatomy of a Blog Post. Your blog post should be 500 words long or longer. You must create it from scratch - plagiarizing is against the Canisius College code of ethics and has significant consequences. For pictures, you are allowed to take images from the internet and use them for your blog. Note: In the real world, you would need to get permission to use other people's images but I'm making an exception for this class.) You will need to cite any outside sources of information you use in your blog - this is explained below.

The 6 websites listed below currently have few or no external links. Spend some time on each of the websites above, AND CHOOSE THE ONE THAT YOU WANT TO USE FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT. Then, create either (a) an infographic, (b) a storyboard for a video, OR (c) a blog post for the site’s blog (even if the site does not currently have a blog).
