A collaborative enterprise with my wife and myself, we started Sword and Dragon Comic Collective as a way to reach out to people who are marginalized in society as a whole. We seek to create heroes and heroines who are atypical from what one sees in other comics. We create characters who have something intrinsically different about them that is often ridiculed in society, but ultimately makes that hero who they are. We strive towards making characters who are LGBT, people of color, people who are atypical body builds, people with mental illnesses, and people with disabilities. We are all inclusive and our stories will reflect our belief that everyone has a place in society and that a person's worth is measured only by their actions and words. Our mission is to give the world heroes that everyone can look up to because, ultimately, we are about establishing a visceral connection with the reader in a human way.
We are looking for a team of artists who can accurately draw people of color, transgender people, gays and lesbians, and people with disabilities in a way that does not make fun of them. We also need these artists to be able to draw non human creatures, including angels, demons, anthropomorphic creatures, animals and aliens. Above all, the artists we choose need to be able to work together as a team. We are looking to fill five positions, must have a decent portfolio. Payment will be negotiated. Serious inquiries only.

I really like the concept! Will you be providing specific descriptions of the heroes (their powers, clothing, weapons, etc.)? And could you provide some references to show what you'd like in terms of style and level of detail? My process would be to do everything by hand then digitize it, I would first provide you with some rough sketches for you to approve of then commence in on the detailing and coloring.
Anyway, I could start working on this right now, just let me know!
