Ongoing freelancerto support existing website wanted

We have the requirement to hire a freelancer to support and continue development of our web application. In order to assure we select the right freelancer we are posting this project which we will award to 1 or more developers based on the responses that we receive. A range of defects and small development tasks, as outlined later in this description, will be asked of each developer. Each developer is expected to perform these tasks to the best of their ability asking questions as required. Each developer will have two weeks days to complete the work and will receive £1,000 for their efforts. Rest assured that the amount of work required is not considerable; we are mearly using this mechanism to find talent that we can rely on for additional work in the future. Once all developers have completed to work, each response will be analysed. The assessment will focus on creativity, robustness, completeness and the ability to work with us. At this point we will offer one of the developers a monthly renewable support agreement for a negotiable contract to support and continue the development of the product. It is expected that the continued demand be around 1 week per month however this is also negotiable. Please do not agree to take on this project if you are not willing to commit to a further contract should you be selected. Our web application has been developed using C#.NET Web Forms with a MSSQL database. During this initial project the following will be expected: - The application has been developed and built using Visual Studio 2005. The developer is to migrate the project to Visual Studio 2015 ensuing that the code is still able to compile. The solution makes use of “Web Site Administration Tool” which is no longer supported in VS2015 so an alternative or workaround is expected to be researched and implemented. - 10 bugs/defects ranging from very easy to reasonably difficult require solving. All we ask is that each developer attempts to solve as many defects as possible in the time provided. - A very small new feature is to be added to the application based on some acceptance criteria which will be provided. - A very short report containing: 1. A list of the changes that have been made (this could be an automated report supplemented with developer comments as to why the change was made). 2. A brief summary of how you would expect to work with us if selected (communication methods, setup, config control etc…) 3. Your proposed rate if selected for further work If selected for further work you may be asked to visit our site in the South of the UK for a meeting before commencing any further work. This is simply so we can get to know one another. Therefore only candidates in the UK should apply.
