I have a running system with a quite slow manual installation-process It runs on Ubuntu 14 or 16 I would like to automate the following steps INSTALL a java b tomcat c postgres/postgis d Create DB and run DB scripts e Build WAR-files using ANT and Maven (is done on remote machine) f Deploy War file sin Tomcat g Patch the deployments with some post install changes Alla installations files should be downloaded with eg Curl from remote URL Alla above should be solved with well documented scripts with Detailed knowledge of current process do of course exist. The task is to automate these tasks. So deep level of Linux admin, scripting and deployments. also deployment and scripting ANT-builds A possible additional step is that all projects will be migrated to Maven so that jenkins could be used for deployments. So Competence in jenkins is a plus. Very good communication skills is needed to dicuss and explain the scripts for the dev-team. Previous experience in this area must be showed.

As I can understand you need to automate some manual steps you been carrying out in each release cut over. This is more like some Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration work to me. I could certainly develop you a single shell script or a Python module to do this work. But I would suggest you to use Ansible to automate this process since there are multiple external servers are getting involved and this process will be happening frequently.
