Javascript Backwards Project

Take the attached file and write a verbal description of how each piece is calculated (work backwards from the file...)

This javascript was written a long time ago, and we want to write it using more up to date methodology and more efficient code. Therefore, we need to have the formula written out for each calculator's result.

SO I need someone to do these same steps for the "Air Travel" and "Home Energy" portions of this page [url removed, login to view] Please include the name of any required external references.

Example:

Carbon Footprint Calculator for Driving

1. User selects id="vehicle_year" from dropdown

2. script updates id="road_summary" <h3 class="vehicle-id"> with the chosen year text (white summary box to the right)

3. script populates id="vehicle_make" dropdown with all id="vehicle_make" for the selected id="vehicle_year"

3. User selects id="vehicle_make" from populated id="vehicle_make" dropdown

4. script updates id="road_summary" <h3 class="vehicle-id"> with the chosen make text (now we have written "<h3 class="vehicle-id">2011 Volkswagen</h3>)

5. script populates id="vehicle_model" with all id="vehicle_model" for the selected id="vehicle_year" & selected id="vehicle_make"

6. User selects id="vehicle_model"

7. script updates id="road_summary" <h3 class="vehicle-id"> with the chosen model text (now we have written "<h3 class="vehicle-id">2011 Volkswagen CC</h3>)

8. script unhides id="vehicle_model_profile", <p class="vehicle-mpg-scale">, <p class="vehicle-description"> and <p class="vehicle-consumption"> and prints vehicle-mpg-city, vehicle-mpg-hwy, vehicle-description and vehicle-consumption

9. user selects id="vehicle_model_profile" and selects id="vehicle_miles"

10. script updates class="vehicle-miles" and class="vehicle-gallons"

11. user clicks "calculate" button

12. script unhides <p class="vehicle-bottom-line > and returns "vehicle-carbon-total" lbs CO2 per year
