*** IMPORTANT - THIS IS WRITTEN IN ASP CLASSIC - NOT .NET - BUT ASP CLASSIC - (VB Script) - if you don't know or understand ASP Classic - please don't bid *** We have a site with a search textbox and currently we have a database of several hundred words that when one of those is searched, we display the pages that contain those search terms. We would like to change so that the textbox would become dynamic with autofill so if for example you start to type the word clean - as you type "c" - all the words that start with the letter "c" would show - then as "l" is typed - all words that start with "cl" would be shown - etc. The goal is to guide the user so that for example if we don't have the word clean for a search term for any of the articles, but we have the word "cleaning" for several, the user could see that "cleaning" is available as a search term and just click on it and the search would proceed to show them those results. Be aware this is on a closed server - so if selected we will provide the search page - but you will not have access to the server.

I would use jQuery autocomplete to do the client side where the user would type in the text box and update the server code to fetch words starting with the given letters.

Hello, I've read carefully what you requested. I feel confident that I can help you in your project. Classic ASP was the first web scripting language I mastered. I created many applications in that language, from the very beggining of DOT COM explossion on late 90s. Regarding what you request as condition for this development (I mean, to work outside of production server) I do not see a problem here. We just need to setup kind of dummy results page as simulation for the real one that would be working as server-side application. This can make us spend a bit more time than expected for this kind of developments. Please let me know your comments.
