Currently our website is: [login to view URL] and the source code is here: [login to view URL] I want to create an Android mobile app for this. So I need a backend API that both the frontend server and Android app can connect to (notice I will be making the Android app not you). Frontend server (website), doesn't have MongoDB on it Backend server, has MongoDB on it Frontend server (website) connects to backend server via Websockets and REST API to communicate all data. Website Frontend server -> talks to backend server (which holds the MongoDB database and has a socket connection to) Android app -> Will talk to the same backend server as stated above. This way both the frontend website server & Android app can connect to the same backend Websockets and MongoDB database. NOTICE: The servers do need some sort of auth token such as JWT for user log in's and what not. NOTICE: No frameworks such as Angular or React. The frontend needs to stay native node .ejs views (look at the current script). Right now as the website stands is its just one server with no REST API. The script is already created, in a sense. Now you have to just split it from front end to back end. This shouldn't take someone who knows what they're doing too long.
