Here I want to suggest you one thing that drag-and-drop is so easy with modern browsers and a smattering of jQuery. However, Drag-and-drop with JavaScript used to be very hard to do, in fact, getting a decent cross-browser version working was next to impossible. To add drag-and-drop functionality to pages, Need to include both the jQuery library and the jQuery UI plugin. JQuery UI plugin adds all sorts of useful user interface widgets, effects and behaviours including drag-and-drop. The easiest way to include both libraries needs to use Google's CDN. To Change the mouse cursor during dragging, I set the option to 'move' to turn the mouse pointer into a move cursor when dragging the element. And also need to Set this to a selector {e.g. snap: '#snapToMe'} to snap the draggable element to the edges of the selected element. I also set this option to true to snap the element to any other draggable element in the page. To build rectangles and resizeable the rectangles need to Enable any DOM element. With the cursor need to grab the right and drag to the desired width or height. I used in my design the ondragstart attribute calls a function, drag(event), that specifies what data to be dragged. As I go through the attachment ItemManager there I found the text boxes name as GroupA, GroupB. Hi I have done similar task in one of my projects recently where there was users list on the middle of page and roles list on top and left(to keep it accessible while scrolling) of the page . so admin can drag any user to any role. also i had a trash area so admin can drop any role from any user to that trash and role is removed from that user. for the restriction of drag drop i.e specific user should go to specific roles , we can use draggable and droppable to allow only specific drops. I am ready to complete the elegant drag and drop operations in about 7 days. I am a Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience in Software Development. My special tools include C#, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET WebForms, AJAX, JQuery, HTML5, CSS, Vanilla JavaScript, etc, and I use these tools everyday. I believe your project will heavily depend on CSS, ASP.NET AJAX, JavaScript, and JQuery; 1. A good deal of ASP.NET Ajax; for submitting the forms quietly after drag and drop, in order to add to and repopulate the tables and views respectively, with little of no user interruptions. 2. Hugely, a combination of Pure or "Vanilla" JavaScript, and JQuery, to receive the dropped items, and preview their corresponding data, as often as necessary. These will also aid in displaying the appropriate animation for the drag and drop operations, as they happen. 3. CSS would be primarily used to create the UI classes, that will be applied during drag and drop operations, and as usual, the rest of the look and feel. I am very sure that, with my special interest in User Experience, which include UI Design, i am more than capable of delivering what you ask for, or even more, in a minimum workable time frame.
