Frontend changes for a responsive site (CSS/Semantic HTML/jQuery)

*NOTE* we prefer an individual freelancer NOT an agency. We're a startup of only 2 people developing a new service for small businesses in the EU to handle online payments. We have existing layouts and code, however they need updating to better match Sketch files and to clean up some of the layout markup and CSS files to be more consistent, plus testing with different browsers. There are three ways our pages are rendered: A. responsive web on mobile (CSS default) B. hybrid app webview (minor changes from A) C. responsive web on desktop (CSS media overrides from A) Some content is generated conditionally server-side for each of these but always from the same (.html) view files. You will need to be able to understand and work around the server-side code <? if … then ?> tags where layout changes are required. If you can use some of your own initiative to ensure all elements are consistent that'd be great! e.g. ensuring line-heights, font-size, margin/padding are all the same. You are also welcome to suggest improvements, e.g. removing unnecessary divs, optimisations, … We try to use semantic HTML, e.g. section, footer, small etc instead of class-soup. The CSS targeting is currently and must remain based on semantic tags and per-page IDs e.g. #page_id section#id and global classes e.g. [login to view URL] (we do not use BEM). To test changes CSS you can of course edit the site in dev tools, else required to upload via SFTP (SSH) and simply refresh the page on our test server, but also using a tethered Android phone with our app; testing with mobile Safari would be a plus but not essential. The CSS additionally has two themes that apply to pages: regular (blue) and .light (white). jQuery is used for hiding/showing elements and some other behaviours and for form validation. We are using a custom framework so changes to some things such as form validation and Javascript loading require talking with a backend developer to use the right classes and tags.
