The project is the following: to create a program (with Matlab or any other programming language) that simulates the propagation of voltage and current along a transmission line in the time domain by applying the FDTD technique. If possible, create an animation of the trend of voltage and current along the line.
Consider a 3m long two-wire air line, whose dimensions are: wire diameter d = 0.2mm, wire distance D = 2mm
Prepare a report describing the method and implementation choices. Also report the voltage and current graphs in three different points of the line (start, middle and on load) as time changes.
Consider three types of signals with a generator whose internal resistance is adapted to the line:
1) Trapezoidal signal with 1ns rise time (maximum frequency about 1.4GHz)
2) Sinusoidal frequency signal: 1 GHz
3) Single step signal
Consider four types of loads:
1) Adapted resistance
2) Maladjusted resistance
3) Capacitive load
4) Inductive load
