NN horse race prediction

Create a neural net model to provide a probabibility for horse races.
Must know NN very well in order to beat results obtained from Logistic Regression
Using R, it consists mainly in retrieving the probability provided by the created model, normalizing this value for each race,
turning it into odds and ranking them, so as to get the best possible ratio (nb of winning horses/nb of first ranked horses).
The best I could get was 26% from mlogit, and about the same percent from the other ones.
I wish to get more using NN this time.
