Event Lookup Table for Smartphones

Abstract: We’d like to build an app for smartphones that captures the different events generated by another app, and builds a lookup table with said events as input and links each event to distinct output signals to be utilized for other applications. Detailed Description: The idea for this project emerged as a result of an ongoing research on user habits. We would like to see that if the output generated by an application inside a smartphone can be manipulated (distorted, amplified, attenuated, etc.) and see the potential effects on user experience. So what we basically would like to have is the following. An application shall capture the events generated by a navigation app and match them in a lookup table to distinguishable output data. So, for example, if the navigation app generates an audio output (turn right after x meters, leave by the second exit of the roundabout, etc.), the application captures its log, matches it using the lookup table to the corresponding output data and generates said output. The data can be any type, as long as it is easily distinguishable. The generated output data will then be used to trigger certain effects to distort the navigation sounds. We would like to start first with a discussion as to whether such an application is possible to realize. Then we would like to move on to its detailed description of capture, lookup match, and output generation, and how to then manipulate those outputs for specific purposes. Thank you.
