The project is migrating ~1700 static HTML pages (Frontpage 2003, basic formatting) into articles in Joomla 3.5.1. Pages arranged in folders by years 2008 - 2015 and need to be migrated to Joomla articles and corresponding Joomla categories.
Tasks: (1) remove noxious Frontpage HTML tags and classes, (2) adjust internal document URLs from old site directories to new site directories, (3) create correct titles, create meaningful aliases based on title or filename (both of which contains date, to be extracted), (4) upload into Joomla site, check formatting of content and correct linking.
Significant details: New titles must be in format 'yyyy/mm/dd type content title'. However, current titles are in format 'type - January|* dd, yyyy - content title '. The hyphen spacing is irregular and some hyphens may be missing. The day may not be 'dd' but simply 'd'. And those fields (date, type, content title) are found either within the file itself, sometimes separated by different HTML tags, or in a yearly index file with links to the files themselves. Each row in the index file is in the same old format; nor is the index file a table, but rows of text. Hence the project requires significant use of regex or web scraping tech.
Strictly backend, no webdesign or templating needed. Need Q&A to see that the pages are migrated successfully and look consistent w/ the standard site Joomla articles.
