Add custom fields to magento transactional emails

Hi,
We have modified the checkout to include a couple of additional fields. They come up in the admin when I click into the order. That's all good.
In the order email that goes out to the customer, the fields are missing.
I am looking for someone who can fix it immediately as I know it is a small hack. I am available online now, to get the task completed.
