Rackspace Cloud Server Configuration and Migration

***PLEASE READ THIS PROJECT COMPLETELY BEFORE BIDDING*** We currently have 3 dedicated servers - 2 web behind a firewall and load-balancer and a database server (MySql) with Rackspace. All 3 servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 (Tikanga) 64bit. We are seeking an EXPERT firm that can help us migrate our entire site to our cloud hosting account with Rackspace. This means essentially re-creating our current dedicated server environment within the cloud environment. You will need to ensure admin is configured, passwords established, etc. for our development team (FTP, etc.). We already have two servers configured as fail-over servers for our Web1 and Web2 server (mirrored only). So much of this work is already done for you from a configuration standpoint on this aspect. The important thing is that all updated code/data is transferred over properly. Additionally we have within our dedicated environment synching to allow our developers to update Web1 and Web2 is auto-updated every 4 hours (rsynch/cronjob/script). We need this replicated on the new cloud servers. We also need you to evaluate our existing (and the one you're implementing) to determine if there are any ways to increase speed of our site (it's not as fast as it can be currently). Varnish is not an option because our site is coded in Cake PHP...we've tried it already. We are cacheing things already as well. So we need your input on server configuration to speed things up if possible. Additionally we need our database moved to a cloud server that you will need to configure completely. Our entire database is only around 6.5Mb compressed so not large at all currently. Finally we need your team to configure a server for our site IMAGES. We have the server setup but nothing else has been done with this. By placing images in this server, we're hoping it will help to increase load times of our site. So this project involves setting up our cloud infrastructure to match our existing dedicated environment as closely as possible, migration of all data/code, and to do this with as little disruption to our users as possible. We need a partner firm for this project that will completely handle this project in full with little guidance beyond the above. We'll provide all necessary logins obviously. Because we are moving from a dedicated, managed environment to an unmanaged cloud environment, utilization of your firm on an on-going basis for server management/maintenance/etc. is a possibility if you handle this initial project successfully. So we're seeking a firm that is HIGHLY experienced in server migration, management, and maintenance. Preference will be given to firms with vast experience working with Rackspace servers, Plesk, and especially their cloud services which are relatively new. If you've never logged into Rackspace management portal or cloud services for other clients, please don't bother bidding on this contract...you won't be selected for this bid. We will most DEFINITELY need to be able to check the site out on the new configuration fully prior to resetting DNS settings and officially moving out of dedicated environment into the new configuration. We are in the U.S. so we need project manager to be available during U.S. daytime hours, English speaking, and excellent communication skills. This is crucial as well for this project. Please provide firm bid (no milestones will be paid out however we will setup escrow for full project award amount to be delivered upon successful migration/setup). Once our site has been moved completely and is working as it should, we will release payment in full to your firm. When bidding provide firm delivery timeline as well.
