We are looking for a web app along the line of:

The project is going to be slightly different to these sites, but I can explain that later to successful bidder. As far as price goes, use the functionality (particularly mapping search results) of the above sites to come up with your best estimate. I realise this is not a very detailed brief, so we can look at hourly for now, and once we've nailed a complete spec, we can move to fixed price.
We want the site to have a distinct web 2.0 look and feel - think [login to view URL] in terms of design.
Happy with any application development language and the same goes for mapping - i.e. you can use bing, google whatever, as long as you can demonstrate expert use of it on current, operational sites.
Repeat: only show us online, functioning applications that demonstrate expert use of map api's. Please don't send links to your entire portfolio - unless you have integrated maps into your entire portfolio, which would be brilliant!
For now, please can you send me some examples of your work that match what we're looking for here - limit to 3 - 5 of your best apps, as well as you hourly rate. Please also ask any questions you may want to know, but let's not get too technical at this initial stage. Just enough to move forward, and when we select and move to contract, we can get into the nuts and bolts.
If you would prefer that we outsource the design to another provider, and you only supply the back end functionality, we can do that. Please let us know when bidding.
