Fix a function in my custom PHP website that makes a call to an API

I have a PHP script that has a function. The function uses php curl library([login to view URL]) to make a call to an external API inorder to POST or GET data from it. There seems to be some problem that the API call is not working and script gets stuck when API is called. I want the developer to fix it so that the function executes smoothly. The developer should be available to start immediately and finish ASAP.
