Hi, I have prepared a PHP script for you to generate all the possible permutations. I've written a function aptly named "permutations" which generates all the permutations ( n! ) but you can also use it to choose k items among n items ( n choose k ). You can use the script to generate mathematical expressions like a + b * c. So for example given an array of three items [a, b, c] and another array of arithmetic operators [ '+', '-', '*' ] you can use the script to generate all the combinations listed below: Array ( [0] => a + b - c [1] => a - b + c [2] => a * b - c [3] => a - b * c [4] => a * b + c [5] => a + b * c [6] => b + a - c [7] => b - a + c [8] => b * a - c [9] => b - a * c [10] => b * a + c [11] => b + a * c [12] => c + b - a [13] => c - b + a [14] => c * b - a [15] => c - b * a [16] => c * b + a [17] => c + b * a [18] => b + c - a [19] => b - c + a [20] => b * c - a [21] => b - c * a [22] => b * c + a [23] => b + c * a [24] => c + a - b [25] => c - a + b [26] => c * a - b [27] => c - a * b [28] => c * a + b [29] => c + a * b [30] => a + c - b [31] => a - c + b [32] => a * c - b [33] => a - c * b [34] => a * c + b [35] => a + c * b )
