Remove old records from interspire email marketer database to improve performance

We are a publisher of newsletters and have been using interspire email marketer for many years.
Our server is running very slowly and I believe it is because some queries that are running on the mysql database are taking a long time because there are so many records.
We do not track opens or link clicks through interspire so those tables are not large, but there are many jobs and newsletters.
I would like someone to advise on a suitable mysql query that will clear out old records and hopefully speed everything up again.
