Hi, I can understand what it means to loose data having experienced such issues in the past which later even helped me find usual hackers hacks, options left for recovery and the most importantly to safeguard from a re-occurrence. 1. First of all irrespective of whom you wish to assign the task, I suggest backing up the current complete site and database data so that whoever makes any further changes you dont loose or risk what you have. Rather you may provide them a copy of the site content / db to investigate. 2. Some hackers dont delete data but make configuration changes or database modifications so that the data is not visible making it appear as if deleted. 3. I am not sure if the site is hosted on a personal dedicated server or a shared server. In both these cases a complete server backup could have existed but considering its 6 months now chances of it having retained is dim but could be looked for. 4. There are internet archives which retain a screenshot of websites for years which could include the data you need. Chances of finding most of the data here would be high but adding it back to the live website would be a manual task but data is worth the time. 5. Lastly it would be important to safegaurd your website by making security tweaks, frequent updates, review of plugins installed and its updates to avoid re-occurrence. Understanding the scenario I would not want to be paid unless I am able to help you find some of your missing data.
