Just a few days ago, i built some thing very similar to what you are asking, I built a pi that would boot and start a unquitable web browser and cycle though different pages, displaying values from various machines in a factory. I can build you what you need and send back a custom image for raspberry pi that you can simply flash to your sd card and everything will be setup and it will automatcally launch at boot and display data from the uart on a trigger.
