In order to connect to a vehicle ECU, a DGTECH Python USB adapter is needed (J2534 pass through device) or a USB DST-i adapter. The software used only allows these 2x adapters to be used. I want to use a PCAN USB device which is also a J2534 pass through device instead. I need something that tells the program that once PCAN USB adapter is plugged in, that it sees it as one of the above. I have the drivers for all the 3x adapters above. So, I have a Software program that requires a specific USB adapter hardware to be used with it. Dearborn Python adapter J2534 device or DST-I J2534 adapter. The adapter is expensive and I want to use a different J2534 hardware adapter. So basically, I want the program to think that one of the 2x adapters is plugged in when the PCAN adapter I want to use is actually plugged in, such that I can use the software with the adapter I already have. Both are used for similar applications. Now, I would think that if you were to have the drivers for both that somehow this should be able to be done. Any other questions?
