We are in the business of fabrication and installation of granite countertops for kitchens and bath rooms in the USA. We are looking for a sales tool in the form of a custom built software system that does the following: a homeowner takes a digital photo of her kitchen. We upload this photo into this software system. The software tool must alter the old countertop digitally and render it with different granite colors we offer in 3-D including with different edge types. This tool must clearly show to the homeowner how her kitchen countertop would look / transformed into with different granite colors we offer. The software system would store a library of detailed photos of our inventory of granite slabs. The Freelancer must have had extensive experience in VC++ with the graphic libraries built-in. We will start with 40 colors of granite. We would like to expand this to 100 later on. Homeowners' photos may not be of high quality. The software tool must be capable of pulling all the digital data generally generated by a digital camera in the background (such as focal length, aperture, etc.) and use them in the computation. However, the homeowner will be asked to place a pre-measured cardboard / object on the old countertop as a reference to scale off dimensions of other objects captured in the photo. This software tool simply presents a true images of altered countertops and may not be used for actual fabrication of the new countertops. Therefore, dimensional accuracy is not a priority. However, presenting a true high resolution images (without any distortion) on a High Definition large screen TV monitor is important. This software tool is to be developed for use on a stand-alone PC/NoteBook, not on the internet.
